中国の米国産品輸入は１月の米中貿易合意の条件達成に必要なペースに引き続き届いていない。米中外交の行き詰まりが急激に悪化し、新たな冷戦につながるとの世界的な懸念を招いている。
中国税関総署のデータに基づくブルームバーグの試算によると、６月末までに中国が購入したのは、今年の購入目標総額1700億ドル（約18兆円）強のうち約23％にとどまった。５月時点の 19％からペースは加速したが、中国は１月に署名した第１段階の貿易合意を順守するため年内にあと約1300億ドル相当の購入が必要なことを意味する。
